Wireless charging Qi certification types can be divided into three categories: BPP certification, EPP certification and PPDE certification.
1) Qi-BPP Certification:
The product supports power below 5W, uses the Qi protocol, and must be certified by BPP.
2) Qi-EPP Certification:
Products support more than 5W power, the use of Qi protocol, must be EPP certification.
3) Qi-PPDE Certification:
Products support more than 5W power, use Samsung private protocol PPDE, must be tested by PPDE (starting from July 1, 2019).
Special note: Samsung Private Protocol PPDE is an optional feature, manufacturers can add PPDE functionality in Qi certified products. Both BPP and EPP support the addition of Samsung's private protocol PPDE. Once PPDE functionality is added, mandatory testing will be required after July 1, 2019.
