Transistors are a broad category that can broadly refer to all discrete semiconductor components, including diodes, triodes, field-effect tubes, thyristors, and a variety of unheard of components. The transistor is the most typical type of transistor. Integrated circuits are not necessarily composed of transistors, such as CD4011, CD4069 and the like in logic circuits, which are composed of another classic transistor - field effect tubes. So you can say that the integrated circuit integrates a number of transistors, but can not say that it integrates a number of transistors, perhaps it really does not have a transistor in it.
Transistor and transistor are not the same thing.
In a strict sense, transistors generally refer to all single components based on semiconductor materials, including diodes (two-terminal), triodes, field-effect tubes, and thyristors (the last three are three-terminal) made of various semiconductor materials.
Transistors sometimes multidigit transistor. But that does not mean that a transistor is necessarily a triode.
