Mustang Winery is located in California's Central Coast wine region.
Mustang Winery was founded in 1981, when the winery purchased its first vineyard. Two years later, the vineyard released two wines for the first time, a Pinot Noir and a Cabernet Sauvignon.
The winery's non-conformist, unconventional winemaking philosophy has allowed it to develop to this day and become the leading quality winery in California's mid-coast region. In order to commemorate a group of wild horses once galloping in the vineyard, the founder felt that this group of galloping wild horses were the mascot of California State University of Science and Technology (Cal Poly), so he specially named the winery \"Wild Horse Winery\".
