1. Close the blinds or curtains. About 30 percent of the excess heat comes from Windows. Closing the curtains prevents direct sunlight from heating up the room.
2. Turn off all unnecessary heating equipment, electrical appliances and lights. Any device in operation will add heat to the room. Unplug or turn off any appliances that are not in use.
3. Clean up clutter. Piles of clothes and other clutter absorb heat and keep it in the room. The less clutter in the room, the more space there is to cool the room, and the faster the room cools.
4. Open a window and close the rest of the room. If it is hotter inside than outside, it may be that the walls absorb too much heat from the sun during the day. Open the Windows in your room to let the trapped heat out.

1. Open the ceiling fan and adjust the Settings. Ceiling fans are very effective and can circulate the air in the room, creating a ventilation effect.
2. Turn on all other usable fans. Table fans, box fans, swinging fans and hanging fans can help the room air circulation, produce a cooling effect.
3. Place a tray of ice cubes in front of one of the fans. Create a makeshift air conditioner by filling a pan, tray, or large bowl with ice and placing it in front of a fan. This will quickly allow cold, slightly foggy winds to flow through the room.
4. Place the box fan facing outward next to an open window. A fan can blow hot air out of the room and bring in cool air. Place the fan next to the coolest window to bring in the coolest air. Close all the Windows next to this window tightly, and then open a few Windows on the other side of the house, so that the air circulation throughout the house can quickly cool down.
Turn the fan on as high as the wind can get, and shake your head and blow into every corner of the room
