Research in Motion Ltd. (RIM, Chinese name: Mobile Research Corporation) is the manufacturer of the blackberry mobile phone. RIM is a Canadian communications company founded in 1984 that makes networked infrared LED display panels for General Motors.
In 1997 RIM made a $50 million contract for wireless E-mail equipment for BellSouth, in a network called Mobitex that used Ericsson technology to help carriers track inventory, allowing RIM to test its equipment in a network environment. In July 2011, RIM said it would cut 2,000 jobs, or nearly 11% of its workforce, as it slimmed down to save itself. On January 30, 2013, RIM merged with the BlackBerry brand.
RIM technology is short for reactive injection molding, also known as liquid injection molding. It is a \"one-step\" injection molding technology that combines the polymerization of liquid monomers of thermosetting resins with the modeling and shaping of polymers in a single process, directly from the monomer plastic mold products.
The liquid monomer and various additives are directly used as the material for the molding of plastic mold products, and are injected into the mold cavity without heating plasticizing, thereby eliminating the operation of polymerization, dosing and plasticizing, which simplifies the molding process of plastic mold products and greatly reduces the energy loss.
