Why is the new Passat cheaper than the New Magton in the same Volkswagens class?

Presumably it should be the chassis is different, the new Magotan adopts the optimized and upgraded Volkswagen B-class chassis, and the new Passat chassis is elongated on the basis of the Volkswagen A-class chassis.
