How do new energy vehicles charge fast?

In order to realize the fast charging of electric vehicles, it is necessary to charge the public charging pile and open the fast charging mode of the vehicle. The charging power of the general fast charge mode can reach more than 40kW. Using the charging interface of the DC charging pile (5 holes), the AC power supply of the grid is converted into DC power supply and delivered to the fast charging port of the electric vehicle. The electricity goes directly into the battery to charge, which can be charged 50% in 30 minutes and fully charged in 80 minutes.

Although fast charging can save a lot of time than slow charging, fast charging will have a certain impact on the service life of the battery. If not particularly needed, it is recommended to use as little as possible, even if you need to quickly charge, do not use frequently.

Electric vehicles generally have three ways of charging, namely:

1. Portable charging gun. Electric vehicles only need to connect to the household 220V 16A three-eye socket to charge, but the charging speed is slow. Portable charging guns can be purchased in online shopping malls, but be sure to choose a well-known brand with good quality.

2. Home charging pile. If there is a personal fixed parking space, then you can choose to install a home charging pile, but the charging pile alone is not enough. It must be agreed by the property and approved by the power company before installation, which is also more troublesome.

3. Public charging pile. If the first two methods are not available, then only public charging stations will be the only option. Public charging piles are generally built and maintained by power enterprises such as State Grid and Southern Power Grid, but there are also some private enterprises entering this field.

The first is the conventional way of charging. This charging method uses the traditional charging method of constant voltage and constant current to charge the electric vehicle. The charging current in this way is very limited, only about 15A. It usually takes a long time to charge. The work and installation cost of the corresponding charger is relatively low, simple and easy to operate. This long-point approach is commonly used in home charging devices for electric vehicles and small charging stations. Since it is only necessary to plug the car charging head into the power socket in the parking lot or at home when charging, the charging process is generally completed independently by the customer.

2. The second way of charging is fast charging. This charging method is to charge the battery in a short period of time with a high charging current of 150 to 400A. Compared with conventional charging, the cost is high. So fast charging is also called rapid charging or emergency charging. The aim is to ensure that electric vehicles are fully charged in a short time. This time is usually similar to the refueling time of the fuel truck. It is generally used in large charging stations.

3. The third way is wireless charging. This charging method works like using a mobile phone in a car, converting the electricity into a special laser or microwave beam, which can be picked up by a special antenna mounted on the roof of the car.
