Earlier studies have found that GBL synthase and receptor regulation systems exist in Streptomyces Chattanooga L10. ScgA and ScgX are involved in the synthesis of GBL signaling molecules, and their absence leads to delayed morphological differentiation of bacteria and decreased production of secondary metabolites.
Proteomic studies showed that in scgA mutant strains, the expression levels of several proteins involved in primary metabolic processes (glycolysis, TCA cycle, fatty acid anabolic metabolism, amino acid synthesis and metabolism, protein synthesis, pentose phosphate pathway, nucleic acid metabolism, and energy metabolism) were significantly down-regulated. However, the molecular mechanism of GBL synthetase ScgA's involvement in primary metabolic processes remains unclear.
