How does the servo distinguish between bus control and pulse control?

The difference between bus control and pulse control:

Stepper motor by receiving pulse current to achieve speed, position and direction control, the number of pulses determines the position of the stepper motor, pulse speed determines the motor speed, pulse direction determines the motor steering. At present, the control mode of most stepper motors is to use plc to send pulses to the driver, and the driver drives the motor to operate.

For occasions that need to use a lot of motors, such as many medical devices have twenty or thirty axes, if the pulse type is used, one is not easy to control, a plc can control six or seven axes at most, the motor requires more than one host computer, the space volume requirements are relatively large, and most medical devices are relatively small and compact; The second is that the motor has more pulse type wiring is difficult, and the signal interference problem exists when the line is more than one, leading to the instability of the equipment. If the bus is used, only two signal lines and power lines are needed to connect all the motors in series, and the design and installation are very convenient, and there will be no signal interference problems with a large number of wiring.

Some machines have their own computer host, if the use of pulse type can not play the use of computer host, but also need a host computer or motion control card to control the stepper motor drive system, and the use of bus can be directly controlled by the computer host, there is a motion control card way of professional performance, And the cost and space volume are also great advantages over the other two methods.

Compared with the pulse type, the bus type is not only small in volume, but also the control program will be much simpler than the plc ladder program, and it can also achieve the constant feedback of the motor current, voltage, temperature, blocking, etc., the constant change of current and subdivision, the simple control of S-shaped acceleration and deceleration, analog quantity, synchronous instructions, offline control. In general, bus for the pulse type has a lot of new functional characteristics and no disadvantages, bus is the future direction and trend of stepper motor motion control.

The pulse mode is generally some simple servo applications, the requirements are not high occasions. As we all know, there is a certain delay in sending and receiving pulses.

The control mode of the bus can achieve isochronous synchronization in the real sense, because the bus communication speed is faster, and the speed or position setting value can be directly sent. Therefore, high-end servo applications are the bus control mode
