At present, there are three major companies in the world that can produce 5-nanometer chips: Samsung, TSMC and Intel. Among them, Samsung is currently the only company capable of producing 5nm chips in both logic and memory, while TSMC is one of the largest foundries in the market, with its 5nm chip production line already in mass production.
Intel is the second company after AMD to have a 5-nanometer process, and although it is still in the experimental stage, the company says its 5-nanometer chip will be available in 2023. Due to the high technical content of the 5-nanometer process and the expensive research and development costs, only a few companies are currently able to produce in this field.
TSMC and Samsung can make them
Currently capable of producing 5nm chips. Just TSMC and Samsung. The current 5 nanometer chip is the highest level of chip processing and manufacturing. Only Taiwan's TSMC and South Korea's Samsung are capable of processing and producing five-nanometer chips. This is the highest crown of manufacturing, but also the most precise production, a collection of advanced technology to create a five-nanometer chip.
