A terminal is a device or program in a computer system that interacts with a user. It can be a physical device, such as a computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse, or it can be a software program, such as a command line interface or graphical user interface. The terminal allows users to enter commands, view and edit files, run programs, and so on. In a network context, a terminal can also refer to a user terminal that remotely logs on to a server. The terminal plays a role as a bridge in the computer system, enabling users to interact and operate effectively with the computer.
