The Kirin 710A is manufactured by SMIC, 14nm process, the main frequency is 2.0GHz, the core has not changed, and the main frequency is slightly different.
SMIC is the largest and most advanced semiconductor fab in China and officially mass-produced the 14nm process at the end of last year.
Previously, people familiar with the matter disclosed that Huawei is gradually transferring the design and production of its own chips from TSMC to SMIC. It is said that as Huawei's chip department, Hisilicon arranged some engineers to design and produce chips in conjunction with SMIC International at the end of 2019, and the resources have gradually tilted to SMIC International, instead of completely relying on TSMC.
At present, SMIC's 14nm process has been quite mature, and is trying to increase production capacity, and there will be improved 12nm, N, N 1, and TSMC there is still a certain gap, but to meet the performance and production needs of Huawei's mid-end chips is no longer a problem.
Therefore, only temporary production of Kirin 710A processors.
