The m2 chip is equivalent to the Intel medium level. The performance of Apple's M1 chip exceeds that of the i9-9880H and is on par with that of Intel's Core 10 generation 10700 processor. In Geekbench 5, the M1 scored 19,244 points, which is comparable to the GTX 1050 display (18,500 points). After the translation, the M1's GPU performance is not able to play large games, at most can barely play a few small games.
Choose the M2, the entry-level option in Apple's chip catalog, similar to where the M1 sits alongside the M1 Pro, M1 Max, and M1 Ultra. Next, Apple will no doubt expand the M2 series with new chips, but only one M2 is currently available.
