The samples obtained after amniocentesis can be used for chromosome karyotype analysis and gene chip examination. Amniocentesis mainly analyzes the number of chromosomes and the deletion, replication, and translocation of large fragments, but the deletion or replication of small fragments cannot be detected. However, gene chips can detect replication or deletion of tiny chromosome fragments, but cannot detect chromosomal translocations without fragment increases or decreases.
