780G motherboards generally support AM3 interface processors (some 760G can support AM3, see the specific motherboard model). Assuming that the motherboard is the highest AM3 interface is with X6 1100T six-core processor, but 780G chipset because of market positioning reasons, the general processor power supply design is poor, it is not recommended to match such a high processor, choose with 95W TDP X4 945, 955 and other four-core processors is the most appropriate.
